Switching the IC-705 between my Android apps and fldigi (via wfview) My IC-705 runs over WiFi through wfview on a Linux laptop, which acts as the bridge for everything else. The Android apps connect to wfview over the network: wsjtz-android (FT8) uses TCI for audio plus rigctld for rig control, and SWR Sweep uses rigctld only.

fldigi via wfview on Linux: IC-705 over the network This is how I got fldigi on a Linux laptop to receive, transmit and control an IC-705, with wfview in the middle talking to the radio over the network. Audio goes between the two programs through ALSA loopback cards. Frequency control and PTT go through wfview’s built-in rigctld server.

TX Training on LCWO

The fine LCWO has a TX training facility that, in addition to allowing keying with the spacebar, also accepts input from the left mouse button. A straight key can be connected across the mouse button contacts.
I tried plugging my straight key into vband USB interface (4.99 GBP from China) and it works a treat.

Resurrected my old SGC2020 and DX Commander fan vertical antenna. 20W SSB will not get me far so decided to master CW also: proving to be harder than getting the rig up and running!
